Natures Explorers

These programs allow students to investigate first hand the life found in and around our area.

Swamp Bunnies

Sunday, September 26               2:00-3:30 p.m.

Have you ever heard of such a thing as a swamp bunny?  Meet at Tom Wisner Hall to find out more about this little wetland animal, then hike out to the marsh to search for  them.  Location:  Kings Landings Park.

 
 

Salamanders

Sunday, October 17                    2:00-3:30 p.m.

             Join a naturalist at the education building to learn all about what makes salamanders special.  You will have an opportunity to meet a live salamander and then we will hike to the salamander traps, hoping to find some fall migratory salamanders.  Return to the education center for a game of salamander scurry and a slimy salamander snack.

Tracks, Signs, & Scat

Sunday, November 14            2:00 - 3:30 p.m. 

              Have fun learning how to identify some animal signs, tracks and scat, then become a nature detective as you search the trails for animal clues.  Return to the nature center for a delicious, gross snack. 

Location:  Flag Ponds Nature Park.
