Groggy Goldfish

How do fish survive during the winter? Investigate fish
hibernation by observing live goldfish in different water temperatures.
Play a fishy game and end with a cool goldfish snack.
This program will take place indoors.

Woodpeckers
Sunday, February 26
2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
What kinds of woodpeckers live in Maryland?
How do they bang on wood all day without getting a headache?
Join a naturalist for a short presentation about woodpeckers to
answer these questions. Set off
on a hike through the forest to search for these winged wonders and return
to the nature center to make a snack for your woodpeckers at home.

Compass Skills: Egg Hunt
Sunday, March 18
2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
Join a naturalist at the education building for beginner compass
lessons. Then head outdoors and
have fun exploring Flag Ponds Nature Park as you use a compass to find
candy-filled eggs hidden throughout the park.
