Kayak Trip to the Heron Rookery for VOLUNTEERS

  • Must be a current CCNRD volunteer.

For Ages 12 years to adult

Those under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

The naturalist will lead you to the heron rookery where you will, hopefully, see and hear the Great Blue Herons and their nestlings from the water. Kayaking experience required.

Location: Kings Landing Park.  Meet at the parking lot by the pool.

Reservations and payment are required in advance.

Register by mail or in person (at Battle Creek Cypress Swamp) by Thursday, June 25.  No phone or email reservations accepted.

Program is Free to Volunteers

Due to the limited number of kayaks, we may not be able to accommodate your kayak preference. There is a chance that the demand for kayaks exceeds our capacity.

The schedule of events is subject to changed based on the status of the coronavirus response, weather, staffing, and other situations that may arise. If Calvert Nature Society or Calvert County Natural Resources Division cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
