For Ages 9 years to adult with previous kayaking experience.

Participants must be at least 9 years old to accompany an adult in a double kayak, and at least 12 years old to ride in a single kayak. Those under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

We’ll set out for a paddle on the Patuxent River to get a perfect seat for the Perseids Meteor Shower! The moon will be close to full but we should still be able to see some meteors.

Location: Kings Landing Park Meet at the put in by the pier

Naturalist in charge: Gene Groshon

Reservations and payment are required in advance.

$15 for Society members
$30 for nonmembers

$10 Discount if you bring your own kayak

Due to the limited number of kayaks, we may not be able to accommodate your kayak preference. There is a chance that the demand for kayaks exceeds our capacity. If we are unable to fit you into the trip, you will receive a full refund.

The schedule of events is subject to changed based on the status of the coronavirus response, weather, staffing, and other situations that may arise. If Calvert Nature Society or Calvert County Natural Resources Division cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
