    Fall Foray - School's Out Adventure

    For children ages 8-10 years old, adults are not required 

    Come explore the outdoors, meet new friends, discover new interests, and create memories that last a lifetime. 

    We will spend the day exploring this new park - hiking through the woods, walking in the creek, and playing games.

    Bring water, a snack, lunch, bug spray, sunscreen. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet and dirty. You’ll want a change of clothes for the way home and a towel.

    Location: Ward Farm Recreation and Nature Park

    Space is limited to 10 campers.

    Ages 12-16 years old

    Friday, October 19, 7:00 a.m. through Saturday, October 20, 4:00 p.m.

    Mandatory pre-trip meeting on Thursday, October 4 at 6:30 pm at Kings Landing Park

    Assateague Island is poised between the land and the sea - recreated each day by ocean, wind, and waves. Teens will kayak the coastal bay, camp in the sand dunes, cook dinner over a fire, and explore the beach at night.

    Fee per child:
    Society members pay $40 per person.
    Nonmembers pay $60.

    Please register before October 1

    Each child must be registered separately.

    Location: meets at Battle Creek Cypress Swamp then we'll travel by van to Assateague Island

    Additional details

    Provide your own lunch Friday. Dinner Friday, snacks, breakfast and lunch Saturday provided. Tents provided – must have own sleeping bag.

    Packing list can be found here in October and will be emailed to participants in the fall.
