Outdoor Art Adventures Summer Camp (07/24/2026)

For children entering 3rd-5th grades in fall 2026

Let nature be your inspiration as we spend the week creating works of art in many different forms. We will draw, paint, photograph, and sculpt our way through the park, and we will end the week with an art gallery exhibition for families to view our masterpieces.

Calvert Nature Society reserves the right to modify and/or change camp program activities and structure based on health, safety, and other variable factors.

"Welcome to Camp" letter and packing list will be sent out and posted online in June.

Calvert Nature Society - Camp Letters & Information

For children ages 4-5 years old by time of camp

Children must be bathroom independent

Little campers will spend this week taking a close look at the plants and animals that live at the Battle Creek Cypress Swamp. Each day we will go on mini adventures throughout the park to explore our natural world. We’ll use our senses and scientific tools like hand lenses and nets to explore. Nature-related games, songs, and crafts round out our days.

Is your camper nervous about being on their own at camp? Come for our optional "Meet the Naturalist" day at Battle Creek Cypress Swamp on: NEW DATE - July 23 at 10am.

More information will be sent to registered participants.

Registration deadline: June 1

Tuesday - Friday (no camp on Monday)

9:00am - 12:00pm each day

Children entering grades 1st and 2nd in Fall 2026

Remember the magic of summer camp—the forest hikes that felt like grand adventures, the silly stories around crackling campfires, the zany songs that got stuck in your head, and the wet-and-wild water games that left everyone laughing? This camp brings all those timeless traditions to life for a new generation of young campers.

Perfect for first-time adventurers, this program introduces kids to the joy of the outdoors through classic camp activities in a shorter session format. Each day is filled with hands-on discoveries that build confidence, spark curiosity, and encourage teamwork, nature exploration, camp crafts, games and water play. We will even have a campfire and make our own snacks. Campers will explore nature in fun, age-appropriate ways while making memories and friendships that last long after summer ends.

It’s the perfect way to start a lifelong love of the outdoors—and to capture a little of that old-fashioned summer camp magic.
