Bennett O. Hughes Memorial Tree Farm |
1320 Clay Hammond Road Limited Parking In 1986, Calvert County received a generous gift of land from the estate of Bennett O. Hughes. As a condition of the gift, the county agreed that 196-acre property would be maintained as a tree farm to demonstrate sustainable forest management. Numerous trails meander through the forests, taking hikers through various successional stages of forest growth, meadows, and around a bucolic fishing pond. Hikers are warned that the trails are primitive. |
