For current Calvert Steward volunteers ages 18 and up 

This is a special opportunity for current Calvert Stewards volunteers to get together with a park naturalist and explore a little-visited part of the Battle Creek Cypress Swamp property. We will trek thru the winter swamp to the county champion bald cypress tree – the biggest of its kind in the county. 

Please register through our new  Galaxy Digital volunteer portal https://calvertstewards.galaxydigital.com .  If you are new to the system, you will need to create an account.

What are Calvert Stewards? They are the volunteer corps of the Calvert Nature Society and the Calvert County Natural Resources Division. More information can be found on the Calvert Stewards Volunteer Page.

COVID Policies and Procedures 

The Calvert Nature Society has developed policies and procedures for public program operations based on state and CDC guidelines. 

Please consider the safety, health, and well-being of all participants in our programs and stay home if the participant is ill. Full refunds will be given for cancellations due to health concerns. 

Prior to participation in any Society sponsored program,  we will ask each individual, to if under 18 a parent, to complete a participant waiver.

Please download and complete the waiver prior to the program. You may complete it online and email to CypressSwamp@CalvertCountyMD.gov, or print it and bring to  the program.  The waiver needs to be completed for each in-person program.
