Looking to Get Your Feet Wet in Environmental Education?

Calvert Nature Society and Calvert County Natural Resource Division have internships for college juniors and seniors and recent graduates.

Positions available in Spring, Summer, and Fall

Responsibilities include:

  • Environmental Education: Leading programs for a wide age range
  • Public Programs: Plan and lead public nature interpretation programs, may include: pre-k classes, kayak trips, outreach, scout groups
  • Wildlife monitoring projects 
  • Nature center operations including animal care and garden and trail maintenance

Hours: Mostly weekdays between 9am-5pm, with occasional weekends, evenings, or overnights

Average of 25-30 hours/week for 12 weeks for spring and fall, summer intern schedule varies greatly week-to-week based on summer camp schedules.

Stipend of $1,500

Candidates should have knowledge of local natural history and experience working with children.

Selected candidates are required to pass a background check.
