Herp Atlas

The Maryland Amphibian and Reptile Atlas, also known as the "Herp Atlas," was a five year citizen-science project that concluded in 2014 to identify all the species of amphibians and reptiles in the state, as well as document where each species is found.

Thank you to all volunteers!

Reports and sightings of local herps were submitted by volunteers throughout Maryland. Data required included date, location, and time spent searching for specimens. Rare species also required a photograph or sound recording of its call to be submitted  for further verification.
