All county government administrative offices are open to the public. County government employees and visitors will not be required to wear masks. Verify office locations and hours before visiting.

Kayak, Canoes, SUPS

  • Kings Landing Park, 3255 Kings Landing Road, Huntingtown (200 ft. walk to Patuxent River, pier or natural shoreline) No fees.
    • Flag Ponds Nature Park, 1525 Flag Ponds Parkway, Lusby (1/2 mile walk to Chesapeake Bay; natural shoreline, no ramp) Entrance fee charged.
    • Nan's Cove, 8081 Broomes Island Road, Broomes Island (direct access to Patuxent River, floating dock) No fees.
    • Lower Marlboro Wharf, 3955 Lower Marlboro Road, Owings (direct access to Patuxent River, floating dock) No fees.

    Fishing and Crabbing

    A valid Maryland fishing or crabbing license is required. Visit the Maryland DNR web site (external site)

    The Calvert County water trail guide is available now at sites throughout the county such as Kings Landing Park, Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum, Calvert Marine Museum, Solomons Boat Ramp, North Beach Welcome Center, Chesapeake Beach Town Hall, parks and Recreation main office, and Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Nature Center.

    Calvert County residents can call the Calvert County Natural Resources Division at 410-535-5327 if they would like a free copy mailed to them. For out-of county residents, the guide can be purchased ($3 to cover postage) from the DNR Outdoor Store (http://shopdnr.com/watertrails.asp)
