For Children in Grades  3-5

Feel like you've been stuck inside all winter? This camp will be full of adventures -- we will wade into the swamp, use nets to look for amphibians, and, of course, play in the mud.

Bring a snack, lunch, and dress for the weather each day.

Welcome to Camp letter and packing list for camp will be posted here in early March and emailed to participants.

Available as a 2-day session only. 

Location: Flag Ponds Nature Park

Fee per child:
Society members pay : $25 
Nonmembers pay : $40

Please register before April 1

Each child must be registered separately.

COVID Policies and Procedures 

MASKS

Effective on October 1, 2021, during programs sponsored by Calvert Nature Society which are designed for children under the age of 18 years the policy for masks is 1) while in buildings regardless of vaccination status all adult participants and children above the age of 2 years old are required to wear a face covering; 2) for programs that take place outdoors, and physical distancing of at least 3 feet is practical, masks are highly recommended, but not required; and 3) when physical distancing cannot be maintained participants are to wear a face covering. For programs designed for adults, masks are highly recommended, but not required. Program participants must provide their own masks which must comply with the requirements set forth herein. The Calvert Nature Society has developed policies and procedures for public program operations based on state and CDC guidelines. 

Please consider the safety, health, and well-being of all participants in our programs and stay home if the participant is ill. Full refunds will be given for cancellations due to health concerns. 

Prior to participation in any Society sponsored program,  we will ask each individual, to if under 18 a parent, to complete a participant waiver.

Please download and complete the waiver prior to the program. You may complete it online and email to CypressSwamp@CalvertCountyMD.gov, or print it and bring to  the program.  The waiver needs to be completed for each in-person program.

The schedule of events is subject to changed based on the status of the coronavirus response, weather, staffing, and other situations that may arise. If Calvert Nature Society or Calvert County Natural Resources Division cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
