Ages 5 years and older. Adult participation is required.

'Tis the season to celebrate the hardy plants and trees that stay green all year long.  We will learn about the adaptations that allow some plants to keep their leaves year-round, while others take a long winters nap. We will take an exploration hike to see some of our evergreen friends in action. Warm up back at the nature center with some cider and create an evergreen decoration to take home.  Please dress warmly and wear sturdy shoes. Hike is not stroller friendly.

The Calvert Nature Society has developed policies and procedures for public program operations based on state and CDC guidelines. 

Please consider the safety, health, and well-being of all participants in our programs and stay home if the participant is ill. Full refunds will be given for cancellations due to health concerns. 

Prior to participation in any Society sponsored program,  we will ask each individual, to if under 18 a parent, to agree to a participant waiver.  The waiver agreement needs to be completed for each in-person program.
