A strong emphasis on park stewardship and outdoor recreation, activities include hiking, backpacking, kayaking, canoeing, and camping along with trail improvement, survival training, and plant/animal identification. Local history and conservation practices are taught. Self-confidence, independence, community spirit and a respect for nature and open spaces are just a few of the traits our Jr. Rangers take away with them.

Jr. Ranger Corps meetings are generally held every second and fourth Saturday of the month, 1pm-4pm, throughout the school year. These meetings are free.

Each summer, a week-long camp introduces new Jr. Rangers to outdoor experiences, and hones the skills of current Jr. Rangers. There is a registration fee for the camp.
